Hey M Girls!
Last night, M got to attend celeb blogger Perez Hilton's super-cool event in NYC and we had a total blast catching up with stars who came out -- including one of Justin Bieber's musical inspirations, Boyz II Men! Since JB and them teamed up to do a song on Justin's upcoming Christmas album, titled "Falalalala", we HAD to ask them all about it! Check out our exclusive one-on-one!
M: We can't wait to hear your song with Justin! What can you tell us about the song so far?
Boyz II Men: We can say that it's a great record. When he came to us with the song, we heard it and we were like, 'Yo this would be a opportunity for us to get into the studio together,' and we've been for looking for the opportunity. Anything dealing with the holidays, it bridges the gap between old and young, and age just doesn't matter. It's all about the festivities of the time so it was a great song for the occasion.
M: What surprised you most about Justin?
Boyz II Men: Well, what I like most is that, you know, obviously when you hear a kid out here, all the hoopla about kid artists, it's all this hype, but when you get around him and you see what he's about you realize it's not just fluff, I mean the guy can really sing. That's the thing that really gets to me most because there's always these phenomenon's that come around but once all that hoopla dies down do they have the substance to stay it. He has it.
M: What can you tell us about your own new album? What can fans expect?
Boyz II Men: Well the new album is entitled 'Twenty' and will be out in four days, October 24th. It's a double CD, and it's actually our latest effort to date. It's been about 10 years since we did original Boys' songs for an album. The other albums were kind of like remakes and things like that. We did "Love" and did "Mo-town" but this album is something that our fans have been asking for, for a very long time. It's a well put together album, we have eight old, older, re-mastered, re-sung, remixed and everything songs. We re-sung [the old classics] so that's awesome, but then we did 12 brand new Boyz II Men records and were very excited about it.
M: That's awesome. What song are you most excited for your fans to hear?
Boys II Men: You know; it's a song for a day. It all depends on how you feel. We consider the whole body of work that's special for us. All of them are our babies so one is our favorite song one day then another the next day and so on.
Cool! So let's dish:
