David Archuleta may be on a mission in South America, but luckily that didn't stop him from making new music. Today, Archie announced on his official website that fans can expect a new album, Begin, on August 7! The album will be David's fifth, and will include both cover songs and new original music. We're excited to hear it!

If you're wondering how David is enjoying himself in South America, he just tweeted about his experience, saying: "Tell everyone I say hello and that I absolutely loved my first week here! The people here are amazing!" Aww, we're glad he's having a good time.

As we reported at the end of last year, David Archuleta has decided to take a two-year break from music in order to go on a mission trip. Now, it's almost time for him to leave for South America, so he wanted to make a final video blog before moving away!

He wrote with the below video: Just one more vlog from home for a while before I leave on my mission. It has been an emotional week with family and friends. Just wanted to thank all of you for the support you have giving me for the last 4 years. Will see you all in 2 years.
