As we reported, Taylor Swift was offered the role of Eponine in the upcoming film version of Les Miserables. Though she was originally up against Glee's Lea Michele for the part, last night, the film's director announced that Nick Jonas' ex-girlfriend, Samantha Barks has landed the role instead. After hearing the news, Samantha tweeted: "Most incredible moment of my life!!!!" Samantha joins the talented cast which includes Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried.

If you were hoping to catch Tay on the big screen, don't worry -- you can still hear her voice in the upcoming animated film, The Lorax on March 2!

Just a few weeks ago, we told you that Taylor Swift and Lea Michele were battling for the same movie role in Les Miserables and sources are reporting that...Taylor Swift was offered the role!! Tay has been offered to play Eponine, and Amanda Seyfriend was offered the role of Cosette. Tay and Amanda haven't commented about the movie or accepted the roles yet -- we'll keep you updated when we hear the news!

Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe have already been casted in the movie, which will hit theaters December 7, 2012.

Uh oh -- Taylor Swift and Glee's Lea Michele are after the same movie role! Though Anne Hathaway already won the lead part in a new film version of the Broadway musical Les Miserables, both Taylor and Lea hope to play a tragic character named Eponine. Sources say that the girls recently tried out for the role, but producers don't know who to pick! Lea has tons of experience acting in musicals (she even starred in a Les Mes production as a kid!), but Tay does have an amazing voice, too. Def a hard pick!
