M Exclusive: 'A Fairly Odd Christmas' premieres tonight!

fairlyodd.jpg
Hey M Girls,

We're so excited because tonight is the premiere of A Fairly Odd Christmas -- the brand new, live-action Fairly Odd Parents movie! We're even more excited because we got the chance to chat exclusively with both Drake Bell and Daniella Monet about the flick and all things Christmas! Check it out:

M: We're so excited to watch A Fairly Odd Movie, tell us all about it!
Daniella: A Fairly Odd Christmas is just this fun Christmas movie. It's funny and it's just as adventurous as the last movie. We have some of the original cast, and some new cast members as well, and I think it's just like a perfect combination for this funny cheery Christmas movie.

Drake: You know, Timmy's grown up now, he and Tootie are now together and basically the last movie we left of that Timmy's able to keep his fairy god parents if he uses the wishes for other people, and not for himself, so Timmy kinda takes that to the extreme and starts granting everyone's wishes, and Santa catches wind of this and he has to bring Timmy up to the North Pole, but while he's there some stuff happens where Timmy wishes for something, and that kind of magic doesn't work in the North Pole so everything gets crazy and Santa ends up falling and hitting his head and getting amnesia and not remembering who he is, so Timmy has to come in and basically take over for Santa Claus and save Christmas.

M: Cool! Do you have any similarities to you character? Any differences?

Daniella: There's a lot of similarities between her and I. Tootie is just your average girl, she's a little more mature. What I definitely do relate to, is that she is a total lover. She's sort of a hopeless romantic, and I totally feel the same way. I don't think there's a lot that I don't relate to.

Drake: He's a pretty happy-go-lucky guy, lets things roll off his back, nothing really phases him. I think I kinda share that with him. I think he's a little more upbeat than I am. I'm a little more mellow, but he's kinda on 10 all the time.

M: What was it like working with each other again?

Daniella: Drake and I have know each other for a long time, and obviously I grew up watching Nickelodeon, so it was really cool to work with him, he's so easy to work!

Drake: It's awesome, I love working with Daniella. She's great, and she's always such a pro, it's always great to work with her.

M: Where there any challenges you encountered while filming?

Drake: It was really, really cold. So trying to scenes without your teeth chattering was one of the biggest challenges. But I grew up in southern California so I never had a white Christmas, so being up there for the movie, having all the snow, and having everybody dress up for Christmas, and all the decorations, it was really cool.

Did you have a favorite scene to film?

Daniella: There was a particular scene where we go to be harnessed onto these oversized candy canes and zip line up over the snow in the mountains. So they built this whole contraption and we actually got to do it ourselves so I was totally looking forward to that, like from the day we started the movie.

Sounds like a blast, guys! Be sure to check out the premiere of 'A Fairly Odd Christmas' tonight only on Nickelodeon at 8pm ET!

Let's dish:
-Will you tune in? What's your fave Christmas movie?

M Exclusive: Our day at Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play kick-off!

Hey M Girls!

M intern Christie here! I spent my Saturday in Riverside Park in NYC with some of our fave Nickelodeon stars for the Worldwide Day of Play kick-off event! When I got there, Leon Thomas from Victorious was about to sing the National Anthem for the Big Brothers Big Sister's 4k race!

I made my way to the Nickelodeon tent and found the one and only Daniella Monet! Since she was a panelist on the live Figure it Out taping (that was happening in the afternoon), I was super-excited to talk to her before she got covered in slime!

daniella with mag.jpg

Daniela was inspired by our brand new "Juicy Texts" issue and wanted to share her texting tales:

Next, I chatted with Leon Thomas, and he showed off his copy of M -- what a cutie!

Check out his text talk here:

Then, it was time for the Figure It Out live show! The panelists, Matt Bennett (AKA Victorious' Robbie Shapiro), Gracie Dzienny from Supah Ninjas, Daniella Monet, and Lucas Cruikshank (FRED), were totally stumped by the contestant's secret talent! They had ice cream cones dumped on them! They started eating them and then decided to throw some into the crowd! When they did the "secret slime action", these Nick stars got COVERED in slime! Since they had super silly hats on (Matt's hat even had blonde braids attached to it) they didn't get too green! Matt even waved to me from the stage!

Right after the Figure it Out taping, Rachel Crow came out for a performance -- she did a great job!

rachelcrow1.jpg

Rachel started off her set with "My Kind of Wonderful" and then totally rocked out with "Forget You"! At the end of this song, she even hinted that she'll be filming a Nickelodeon show! She ended her performance with her empowering tune, "Mean Girls" -- it was awesome!

Afterwards, I went backstage and caught up with Rachel about the album she's working on, how she's loving Demi on X Factor, and her upcoming pilot!

It was such a fantastic day with the Nick stars at the kickoff to Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play! Don't forget to get outside and play on the official Worldwide Day of Play on October 6th!

Let's Dish:
-How will you celebrate Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday? Would you ever want to get slimed?

Exclusive Videos: We hung with the Victorious cast at Universal Studios!

exclusive-we-hang-with-victorious-cast-at-universal-studios.jpgHey M Girls!

M Editor Brittany here and I can't wait to tell you all about my awesome trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida with the Victorious cast! The entire cast was there to kick-off Universal's Summer Concert Series, do a Q&A session with fans, sign autographs and of course, have a blast on the amazing rides and roller-coasters! As soon as I saw the cast, they greeted me with big hugs and were so excited to see the new issue of M! Ariana and her bro Frankie told us how much they loved the pics from her bedroom shoot--so did we! Here's other things I noticed:

-Ariana and Victoria were super-close, right before our interview with the cast, Ariana was showing something to Vic on her phone and they both Instagrammed a cute pic of them!
-Daniella Monet brought her adorable boyfriend, Andrew who was so supportive during the concert. He kept yelling her name and taking pix of her
-Ariana and Leon spilled only to us about their upcoming duet! "We did a cover that's really amazing--it's Drake and Rihanna's 'Take Care'. Ariana added to us: "It sounds ridiculous. Very special." Can't wait to hear it! Look for more scoop in the upcoming August issue of M!

The weekend was jam-packed before the concert, but I made sure to get video from the guy Q&A, where fans got to ask the boys anything they wanted!

Here's Matt Bennett, Leon Thomas and Avan Jogia talking about their fave songs from the show:

Matt explains how he learns to be a ventriloquist!

The boys spill advice to you on how you can get your big break in Hollywood:

We were LOL-ing when Avan told us about his dream involving a panther!

After the Q&A, we got to ride some of the attractions ourselves (The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride was our fave and we absolutely fell in love with Butter Beer!). Then I headed to a Victorious episode screening, where I totally got the cast's rap "Five Fingers To The Face" stuck in my head for the rest of the day! Luckily, I got to see the fun song live that night, so I was ready to sing along! LOL :)

The concert was packed with people and I talked to Frankie, Ariana's bro right before the cast took the stage. He had his own camera out to video their performance -- what a great sibling! Check out vids from the concert:

The cast sings "Make It In America":

And here's Victoria singing "Make It Shine"

The concert was so much fun -- Leon Thomas and Matt Bennett got the crowd doing their solo performances and Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande debuted their new duet "LA Boys" which was a TOTAL hit. (Sorry--we weren't allowed to record video during that song, but the tune will premiere in an upcoming episode of Victorious!). When the cast finished their last song together, we totally wanted more--the concert was so much fun!

So let's dish:
-What's your fave Victorious song? Who's your fave castmember?

Comment away!

The stars of Victorious are lovin' their new video games!

victorious:nickelodeon.jpg

Hey M Girls!

Two new video games hit stores this past Tuesday -- "Victorious: Time to Shine" and "Victorious: Hollywood Arts Debut!" Recently, M sat down with the Nickelodeon cast, and they told us all the deets on the games! Here are some of the highlights:

Victoria: "It was really cool. They put me in this recording booth and I had to say hundreds, it seemed like, different lines for this video game character. But I've never had a video game before, I've never had a character based off of me in a video game, so I think it's very exciting and I hope the game turns out cool. I'm sure it will be. And I hope everyone likes it. "

Leon: "This video game is like a dream come true. I grew up playing show video games so I can't wait for it to come out."

Avan: "I actually just saw the avatar of that. It's really bizarre to see a little miniature you. It's very cool. I'm a huge gamer so it's cool."

And the cast has even been playing the games non-stop! Check out their tweets:

M was at Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play!

wwdopopener.JPG

Hey M Girls!

We had a blast hanging out in Washington, D.C. at the Worldwide Day of Play -- we caught up with stars like Big Time Rush and the cast of Victorious, watched BTR perform on stage, and laughed on the sidelines while all the Nickelodeon cast members battled on the obstacle course!

Victorious' Daniella Monet was on the Black Team and she went around to all the fans getting them to chant their support for her team.
daniellawwdop.JPG

And tons of athletes like Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Abby Wambach were there to coach the teams -- here's a pic of Jennette greeting LeBron James!

Can you see who's in the giant soccer balls? LOL
soccerwwdop.JPG

We were loving Big Time Rush's performances on stage, too! Here's a clip of them singing "Boyfriend!"

And BTR took it a little slower with "Worldwide" -- watch the clip below:

But we have to admit, we loved "Big Time" the best because James AND Logan both do flips! Check them out below:

So let's dish:
- Did you participate in the Worldwide Day of Play? If you could meet any Nickelodeon stars, who would you want to meet?

Behind-the-scenes scoop: What it's like to be an intern at M!

allstar weekend with hillary

Hey M Girls!

If you're like me, there's nothing you love more than catchin' up with your besties on the latest celeb goss. Did you ever read the latest issue of M and wonder, what's it like behind-the-scenes there? I was at home wondering that myself just a few months ago, and now here I am wrapping up my last day at the mag! My name is Hillary and I had a blast interning at M -- I got to interview all kinds of stars and attend some awesome events...and now I'm going to share my experience with you girls!

hillary monte carlo premiere
selena gomez MC premiere.JPG

From the get-go, this internship was super exciting! On my very FIRST day, I interviewed Lucas Till on the red carpet at the premiere of X-Men: First Class. My first red carpet was awesome, and my second, the Monte Carlo premiere, was no less exciting. Selena's dress was stunning, and Justin Bieber even made a surprise appearance! (Can you find Sel in the pic above being interviewed right behind me?).

cody simpson with hillary

The premieres are glamorous, but by far my favorite part of interning has been interviewing stars one-on-one. The first celeb I sat down with was Cody Simpson. Cody's a total sweetheart and his down-to-earth 'tude def put me at ease. I interviewed Cody backstage in his trailer at KFEST, a huge radio station concert in NY with tons of cool artists. Cody and I were backstage, about to do the interview when who comes running over to say "hi" but Allstar Weekend's Cameron and Nathan. Cody introduced us, and I was swooning over Cam!

asw cody hillary

Flash forward a few months and I'm sitting down with Allstar Weekend in NYC! The guys were just a goofy in person as they are in their hilarious YouTube vids. My fave part was probably when I asked Zach about "James," the new song about Cameron on All The Way. Michael joked, "It's a love story about Zach and Cameron. To which the Zach replied, "Uh, no, not really." with Cameron adding, "Don't even put that out there. People already think weird stuff." I of course, couldn't help blurting out, "Zameron?" and we all just starting cracking up. Highlight of the day? Hmm... prob tied between Cameron remembering me from the meet-and-greets I've seen them that or Zach singing "Mr. Wonderful" to me. Gooood times.

I was lucky enough to chat with so many great stars. Victorious' Daniella Monet and Jessica Jarrell def stand out in my mind because interviewing them was more like a sleepover -- except instead of talking about that guy in homeroom...Jess is giving me scoop on the Biebs and Cody Simpson and Daniella's spilling on Avan, Leon, and the BTR guys!

daniella monet with hillary

Jessica Jarrell with hillary

Speaking of the Big Time Rush guys, did I mention I saw them in concert not once, but twice this summer? The guys are too nice! In fact, when I ran into James Maslow backstage at an event and called him "Jamez," he laughed, and I could tell he appreciated that I watched the show.

big time rush with hillary

My final exciting event for the summer was going to see Joe Jonas perform at NYC's Fashion's Night Out. I was right in the front, Camp Rock's Anna Maria Perez de Tagle was pretty much the only one in front of me, and I shot a great vid for all you M Girls!

Joe Jonas FNO NYC

Overall, I had THE best summer here! And if you're passionate about entertainment and journalism, I encourage you to pursue it in school! Things like participating in my school newspaper and being an active tweeter are what helped me land this position. Who knows, maybe you could be in my shoes sometime soon?

XOXO M Girls,
Intern Hillary

-Which star would you be most excited to hang with? What's your fave behind-the-scenes story?
