Learn the best ways to apply your makeup!

lauren:michael simon.jpg

Hey M girls!

Do you ever feel confused about what makeup products work best for YOU? Or even how to apply some of them?!?! We're here to help! Check out these fab makeup tricks that will let your natural beauty glow!

Foundation: Used to cover blemishes and balance skin tones, but sometimes girls tend to get carried away and end up caking it on. Remember, most of you already have beautiful skin...don't wear it if there's nothing to fix! (If you need to, use a powder to lightly dust your face.)

Eye Shadow: Browns, purples, golds and greens look great on everyone, and light glitter and shimmer make your eyes pop. But, def remember that a little goes a long way, and if you plan on getting funky, keep the rest of the makeup on your face light. (Too much and you may look like a clown!)

Eyeliner: Makes your eyes appear bigger, but keep it light and right above the lash line. (Applying it on the wet part of the eyelid can lead to infection!)

Mascara: A great way to make you look more awake! Take the time to apply carefully and use no more than two coats. (Too much mascara causes clumping and that never looks good!)

Gloss: Have fun with it! Try different shades, but don't use too much at a time! (Too much gloss is distracting... ew!)

Rule of thumb: Less is more. Makeup always looks best when it doesn't look like you're wearing any at all!

Keep your hair looking healthy this summer!

audrina:sara jaye weiss.jpg
Hey M girls!

M intern Cassie here, wondering if you are as tired of dealing with gross, post-pool hair as I am? You know...the tangled, ratty mess that happens after spending a long day in chlorine water? That's why we're giving you the beauty tips you need to keep those summer locks looking beautiful!

Tip #1: Soak your hair in the shower before diving into the pool. This way, your hair cannot soak up as much of the bad chlorine water!

Tip #2: Try to shampoo immediately after each pool sesh, and of course, condition, condition, condition!

Tip #3: The more water you drink, the more hydrated your hair will be. This is a great way to fight brittle, dry hair!

Tip #4: Stay away from using heat on your hair as much as possible! (This includes your straightener and blow dryer--they damage your hair even more!)

Tip #5: For all of you ultra-confident girls, wearing a swim cap is a great way to protect your strands!

Facemask.jpg

Hey M girls!

Intern Cassie here, and we're giving you ladies the recipe for an awesome do-it-yourself facial mask to try!

It's called the Honey Oatmeal Spa Facial (sounds yummy, right!?), and is great for a girls' night! So, ditch the boys, put on the new Jonas Brothers CD and get ready for some much needed girl talk while moisturizing your skin!

What you need:
- ¼ cup plain yogurt
- ½ cup oatmeal
- 2 tbsp. of honey
- 1 cucumber, sliced

What to do:
Grind the oatmeal in a blender until finely chopped and set aside. In a bowl, stir together the honey and yogurt. Now, stir in the oatmeal until the mixture is like a smooth paste.

Apply to a dry, clean face. Finally, place two sliced cucumbers over your eyelids and relax for 15 minutes. When finished, rinse off with warm water.

And that's it! It's fun, easy and so good for your skin! We hope you ENJOY!

Get a mani and pedi -- for free!

Hilary-1.jpg

Hey M girls!

It's finally summer, which means it's time to treat ourselves to a manicure and pedicure! But, what do you do when you are lacking the time and money to pay for professional care? Do it yourself, of course!

Here's what you need:
Old newspaper, medium bowl/tub with a few squirts of liquid soap mixed with warm water, towel, lotion, nail file, toe separators, polish remover, cotton balls, clear base coat/ topcoat (or one that works as both), your fave polish color.

10 Simple Steps:

1. Line the area with newspaper in case of a spill!

2. Remove old polish from both your fingers and toes with remover & cotton balls.

3. Using your nail file, shape your nails and toenails to a desired length.
Hint: File your nails in one direction rather than back & forth (like a saw!) By sticking with one direction, you save them from becoming jagged, cracked or even broken!

4. Soak your hands in a bowl (or bathtub) of warm, soapy water.
Quick Tip: Soak fingers and toes at the same time!

5. Dry off with a towel and use the edge of your thumbnail to push back the cuticles on the opposite hand's nails.
FYI: A cuticle is the thin lining that forms where the bottom of your nail meets your finger.

6. Lotion your hands and feet!

7. Slip on your toe separators (cotton balls work too!).

8. Use the clear basecoat to paint nails, starting with your pinky (so you don't smudge other nails as you paint) and working your way around to your thumb.

9. After basecoat dries, apply two coats of your fave summer color!
Hint: Make sure you let layers dry in between!

10. Remember to end with a clear topcoat!
FYI: Don't you hate when your polish chips?! This clear seal will make your mani look fresher and last longer!
