Hey M Girls!

Today is Megan & Liz's 20th birthday! We're so fortch that the twins stopped by the M office to chat yesterday (their last day of being a teenager!). We had an amazing convo about music, boys (including One Direction), and more!

M: What are your plans besides performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade?
Megan: We're actually going to Philly at night because we have a show the next day. We're going to go to this restaurant we found on the internet. They actually dress up in colonial attire there, so we're very excited.
Liz: Our mom is coming with us. It's going to be a grande ol' time time in Philly with colonial attire!

M: Do you have any embarrassing moments you can share?
Liz: Yes, during a show literally last week! The way the microphone was set up, when you step on the stand it make the mic come back and forth so I hit my teeth three times in the show. It hurt really bad. Everybody was like "Is she okay?" It kept happening and I kept reliving it while I was singing.
Megan: One time I was on stage and my guitar strap just fell off! The guitar fell forward on the ground in front of me and echoed throughout the entire venue. It went silent and Liz just goes, "Rock 'n' Roll!"

M: Have you two ever had a crush on the same guy.
Liz: For the most part we have very different taste in guys, so it's very convenient.
Megan: There was that one time freshman year.
Liz: Cause you were like "I like Zack", and you were like "No, I like Zack." Megan got him in the end.

M: Who are some of your celebrity crushes at the moment?
Liz: ALL of One Direction.
Megan: I have a really big crush on Harry Styles, not going to lie.
Liz: Like every other girl in the world, we have a crush on One Direction.
Megan: We got to meet them at the Kids' Choice Awards! We got a picture with them. Liz is next to Niall and I'm next to Harry. We look good together, just saying.

M: Who are some of the people you currently admire in the music industry?
Liz: Taylor Swift!
Megan: Katy Perry
Liz: Yes, I love Katy Perry.
Megan: Those are our top two right now.

M: What's one of your favorite songs on the radio?
Liz: I love "Oath" by Cher Lloyd.
Megan: Oh, me too! I love that song! I get really excited when it comes on.
Liz: I love it SO much. And I really love "Die Young" by Kesha too. It's one of my favorite songs!

M: How would you say you differ from one another in your songwriting techniques and styles?
Megan: I'd say Liz is definitely clever. She likes to think of clever things to say and I just tell it like it is.
Liz: She'll come up with the main idea and I'll be like "let's say it this way." Then she comes up with really cool melodies and obviously the guitar parts.

M: How did you collaborate on the song "Bad For Me"?
Liz: That was super-collaborative -- definitely a group effort. The lyrics were a really big thing for us. We got so detailed and were like "Hmmm...what would a guy actually say? What would actually make you feel this way." We had to dig back in history to see.

M: What would you say is your favorite line in the song?
Liz: Mine is: "He's a melody and she's background noise."
Megan: I like: "And you're calling me baby, but I know you just don't care." So many guys put up that front and you know he doesn't mean it like that, but you believe it anyway!
Liz: Yeah, it's written from real life.

Hey M Girls,

During our fab day at Arthur Ashe Kids' Day, we got the chance to catch up with YouTube sensations Megan & Liz! These super-talented ladies are the next up-and-coming stars and we had a blast talking to them about everything from One Direction (you will NOT believe Megan's embarrassing encounter with Harry Styles!) to guys to their upcoming album.

Here's M's exclusive Q&A sesh with them:

M: Hey girlies! We can't get your tune, "Bad For Me" out of our heads! Can you tell us what it was like to film the music vid?

Megan & Liz: That day was just like "oh my gosh, it was so much fun." Everything was so easy and the dancers were really good and the guy was really cute

M: So, we're super-excited for your upcoming album! Can you spill any deets?

Megan & Liz: We're working on our album, which is due out early next year. We don't have a date yet, but we have a title, but we can't say what yet! It's going to be very pop. We hope that every song you won't be able to get out of your head -- that's the goal! Every song you can relate to it at least a little bit or you know somebody who can relate to it.

M: Which other artists are you totally loving right now?

Megan & Liz: Taylor Swift! And of course, One Direction -- we're Directioners!

M: Have you ever met the guys?

Megan: We have! We met them at the Kid's Choice Awards. I had this embarrassing moment with Harry with carrots and it was weird.

M: OMG -- we wanna hear!

Megan: We saw them afterwards and when you walked out, there was this room full of food and I saw this package of carrots with ranch and I was like "oh my god I'm gonna take those for later", so I had them in my hand when I saw them and then I was like, "is there anyone that can take this, and I meant the picture" and Harry thought I meant the carrots and so he took the carrots from me and I was like "oh no, I can hold the carrots, it's really not a problem. I just needed someone to take the pictures" and he was like "oh, alright." Here I am with carrots and One Direction, okay!

M: That's too funny! How about you, Liz? Ever have an embarrassing moment?

Liz: Of course! I went to buy some shoes and it was like the Converse store, which is like a wall of Converse and all the sizes are right there and everything and I pick up one shoe and I say "I need this in a seven" and there's a wall of shoes like right there. And I'm like "oh." And the guy was like "the sizes are right behind you." I was like "oh, sorry." He thought I was a total idiot, but I was like "I don't care."

M: Yikes! So, you two are fraternal twins -- so cool! Do you ever have typical "twin" moments?

Megan & Liz: We say the same things at the same time a lot. Like last night we were doing an interview and someone counted and like six times we said the exact same thing at the same time. It was weird.

M: LOL -- we've noticed it, too! Well, thanks for chatting with us!
