Hey M Girls,
Calling all Awkward fans -- tonight's the big season two finale! While we don't know the answer to the big question of whether Jenna will choose Matty or Jake, we do know the answer to another question: Did M get the chance to chat with Awkward star Matthew Fahey (Ricky)? The answer: YES!

M: Hey Matthew! How would you say you are like and unlike Ricky?
Matthew: Ricky is a nerd. He's like the king of the nerds, I guess you can say, but he's a player. I have never really been a player. If I've ever had a girlfriend, it's only been one at a time so, I can't say that I'm like Ricky in that sense. Ricky and I are kind of alike in that we're both nerds. I grew up as an athlete, but I've always had a heart for comic books and video games and that kind of thing. So, I guess you can say we're both pretty nerdy although, I've never been in a band.
M: What do you love most about playing him?
Matthew: We're so different in that I've never really been the guy to go around and flirt with girls and stuff like that. So, it's fun to do that, but at the same time, it's just so different than me. So I get to be somebody completely different. It's a challenge - I'll say that. It's fun to always have a challenge and it's definitely a big challenge.
M: Yeah, def! So, who are you closest to on set?
Matthew: I'm really close with Jillian (She plays Tamara!). I've known Jillian for years - I think we've known each other for six or seven years now. We hang out all the time. We're really good friends.
M: That's cool. Have there been any on-set bloopers that you remember or were really funny?
Matthew: There are some bloopers. There was a big prank that David Katzenberg, one of our directors, pulled on Ashley Rickards in the middle of a scene. It was scorching hot outside and it was the end of the day - the last take of the scene. David came out of nowhere with a gigantic bucket of water and just poured it over her, and we were out on the football field that day. She literally chased him around the track to catch him. It was excellent. Everyone knew it was coming except for Ashley.
M: We heard you're in a rap group called W.E. - are you happy that your character in the show reflects your own interest for music?
Matthew: He does reflect it in a different way. He plays a bunch of different instruments in the band. It's cool, you know. It's very different - very different. I don't think there are any rappers that are really nerdy. I don't know if any rappers have actually been in a high school band. There's definitely the whole musical thing there. It's cool. I can only rap - I can't say that I've ever picked up an instrument to play. I mean, I've tried but it didn't turn out too well. I played the recorder in first grade - that's about as far as I went with playing instruments.
