Last Friday HAD to be one of the funnest days ever -- we got to hang with Austin Mahone at his FIRST-ever magazine photo shoot in NYC! We had such a blast, we couldn't wait to tell you all the deets!
First, the morning started with getting a big hug from Austin and his mom, Michele (get this -- they even arrived at the shoot 20 mins early, which doesn't happen too often..LOL), and going through outfits with Austin's stylist (we had to make sure they were bright for the mag!). To get hyped for his first mag shoot, Austin flipped through M for inspiration and blasted his iPod to loosen up (Psst -- One Direction's "One Thing" and Cody Simpson's "Not Just You" were just a few of the tunes played!).
Even though Austin was a little nervous, he had no reason to be -- the pics turned out totally awesome! We can't wait to show 'em to you in future issues of M. In the meantime, Austin recorded these exclusive videos for M's Mahomies only!

Another cool part of the day? There was a piano in the studio we shot at, and any break Austin got, he played at the piano. (His bodyguard, Dave, played the piano really well, too!) Here's this video of Austin playing:

This summer was full of fun memories, but one of our faves was definitely helping host Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana's "Summer With the Stars" concert event in Dominican Republic. M was lucky enough to host an awesome karaoke contest (with guest celeb judges!), a dance party, fun beach Olympics, and awesome red carpet events.
While we were there, we of course had to get exclusive vids for M girls!

We were so excited to hang out with Hunter Hayes when he visited our office this week. Not only is this country cutie super-talented, but he's also one of the sweetest guys we have ever met! Hunter had a lot to talk to us about while he was here -- his hit single "Wanted" just went platinum and he's hitting the road with Carrie Underwood in just a few weeks! It's been months since we last saw one of our fave movies of the year, The Hunger Games -- which is why we're thrilled that it's FINALLY available on DVD! Woohoo! We chatted with the stars of the flick who gave us top-secret insider dish about the making of the film!
M: What's your fave feature on the brand new Hunger Games DVDs?
Jacqueline Emerson (Foxface): "Each different retailer that's releasing the DVD has a different version of it with different special features. All of them have the documentary about the making of the Hunger Games, which I saw recently, and I have to say, it's very good. There's a lot of stuff in that I didn't know, so that was really exciting to see the whole behind-the-scenes process."
Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh): "I think I'm most excited about the Tribute Diaries, which is gonna be really cool. They did this thing where they gave all of us Flipcams and they asked us to record our experiences leading up to the premiere, so it's really candid and it's really cool and it's us basically doing the mall tour, doing fittings for what we were gonna wear for the premiere, really really cool behind the scenes stuff, and really putting the fans in our shoes and letting them know what it was like - this whole amazing experience." (Note: this feature is only available on the Target edition of the DVD)
M: What's something that only an insider would notice while watching the DVD?
Dayo: "It's a really really funny thing. When I shot the Reaping scene where Thresh comes in and saves Katniss, the script actually said "just this time twelve, for her" and that's what I actually said on the day and then I had to do additional dialogue in the studio afterwards for touchups for the audio. One of the things Gary wanted me to change was instead of saying "for her" say "for Rue." He was very specific about what Thresh's motivations were for that scene, so in the scene, I ADR'd over "for Rue", but my mouth actually says "for her." No one, no one has picked up on this, so I guess it really works. Your brain kind of pieces it together so you don't actually see it happen, but if you watch it closely, my mouth says "for her", but you hear "for Rue." All the times I've seen it, I'm like "aaagh." I kind of cringe a little bit, but no one seems to have seen it."
Amandla Stenberg (Rue): "When Katniss kisses me on my forehead, after I tragically expire, there is a little bubble of spit and it's really gross! My friends always point it out and laugh and now I always can see it when I watch the movie."
M: What was it like working with Jennifer Lawrence?
Willow Shields (Prim): "I loved having fun with Jennifer, just hanging out and talking. I think that was really fun. I think a lot of our scenes were really serious, so when we started acting, we were really serious and emotional and then like right after that, we would be laughing, talking, and having fun because we wanted to lighten the mood a bit."
Amandla: "She gave me so much good advice on set and we joked around and told stories and we became really close."
M: What's the coolest thing you're looking forward to about the sequel, Catching Fire?
Willow: "I'm really excited to work with some actors that I didn't work with in Hunger Games, so I'm really excited for that."
Jacqueline: "Even though I'm not in the second film, I'm excited to watch it! I'm most looking forward to seeing how they do the Katniss wedding dress transform into a mockingjay thing because I'm sure that's going to be epic. I'm also really excited to see the arena because I think the second arena is so cool. The first arena is a lot more natural, you know, despite the fact that it's controlled by the gamemakers. The Catching Fire arena is much more fabricated in the clock, the settings, the blood ring, and this and this. I'm kind of excited to see how they do that."

We've been Mahomies since the day we spotted Austin Mahone on his awesome YouTube channel -- not only is he totally cute, but we love his confidence. So we were psyched to meet him in person yesterday, and girls, trust us -- he did not disappoint! During our hour-long chat sesh, Austin Mahone was as sweet as ever and made us love him even more. (The big bear hug at the end of our interview didn't hurt either!).

M was the only teen mag at One Direction and Camryn's kick off show in Connecticut!
Hey M Girls!
It's hard to type this blog since we still hear screams from the crowd and have "One Thing" stuck in our head from One Direction's first tour stop at their Mohegan Sun concert! It was an unforgettable night and we can't wait to share all the deets from it!
First, we were invited backstage at Mohegan Sun to catch up with Camryn, One Direction's opening act who did an AMAZING job getting the crowd going! She told us she was "so excited" to tour with 1D and had met them backstage (she even saw Harry on the treadmill at the gym that day!). During our chat sesh, her friends kept texting her asking for deets about the guys -- too funny! So, Camryn wanted to tell M Girls ONLY what the boys were really like. Check out the vid:

After chatting some more and debating who our biggest 1D crush is, it was time to hit the arena -- 1D was set to perform! Camryn and I exchanged a big hug and then we headed to the arena. The walls were shaking with screams from the audience! Fans were holding up posters, wearing bright T-shirts and waving glow in the dark sticks. As the clock on the big screen counted down to 1D's arrival, the excitement was building..and then, Niall, Harry, Liam, Zayn and Louis were on stage looking as HOT and happy as ever!
Besides playing their amazing songs, the guys covered a few of their fave songs, like "Stereo Hearts" by Gym Class Heroes & Adam Levine, Black Eyed Peas and more:
They even covered Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn":

The guys had a blast answering tweets from the crowd! Here, they do their best U.S. accents (Harry has us dying of laughter!), dance to the Inbetweeners dance and rap to Fresh Prince of Bel-Air:

Such an amazing concert! One Direction was so sweet, appreciative and thankful to the fans. They kept saying that they'd be "nothing without them" and how much 1Ders mean to them :)
Here's some other scoop from the night:
-Towards the end of the show, Harry was over on the left side of the stage and some fans had grabbed him when they were touching his hand and he couldn't get his hand loose! When he got his hand free, he was laughing and smiling but said to them, "Ouch, that hurt!" and rubbed his hand and kept looking down at it for the rest of the show! But he didn't seem to be in too much pain and was laughing with the fans.
-Zayn kept peeking up to the big screen to see how he looked on camera when he was singing or on stage!
-Niall seemed to be the goofiest that night -- he kept laughing, joking around with the guys and was smiling the entire time on stage!
-Liam moonwalked for the crowd and showed off his skills proudly!
-Louis was wearing his fave red pants and kept thanking the crowd throughout the night! He also kept wiping his sweat on his shirt :)

When we hung out with Cody last weekend in NYC, we had to ask him his plans for Valentine's Day. You see, even though Cody is single and touring (tomorrow night, he'll be in Chicago!), he's still hoping for a Valentine. Check out his sweet video--for M girls' eyes only!
One Direction kicks off their tour with Big Time Rush next Friday in Las Vegas, and even though they're super-busy, Harry, Zayn, Niall, Louis, and Liam wanted to record a special video just for M girls on their V-day dream dates! Check out the adorable vid:
Their accents totally make us swoon! We'd love to go to dinner and a movie with them any day :)
