The 2012 American Music Awards were bigger and better than ever, and that included the amaze red carpet-ready looks that the stars rocked for the night!
Taylor Swift went for the gold in an embellished mini, Zendaya looked totally grown up with a cute bob and totes mature ensemble, Carly Rae Jepsen shined in a pink sparkly dress, Lucy Hale rocked a pretty little black dress and Jordin Sparks went tribal with her floor-length gown.

Last night was one of the biggest nights of the year for some of our biggest stars -- the 2012 American Music Awards! And, as per usual, M has all of the juicy scoop from the biggest night of the year.
First off, let's chat about the elephant in the room: Jelena! Though Selena decided to pass on the event, Justin did escort another lovely lady -- his mom, Pattie...and he even brought her on stage! But, Sel didn't miss out on the entire night. According to different sources, she and JB met up after the event. Is there still hope for them? Only time will tell.
Let's get back to the AMAs themselves, though -- we think they were the best we've ever seen! Between amazing performances from our faves like Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and more, neck-to-neck fights for the big awards and hot fashions, we were at the edge of our seats the whole time!
The big winner of the night was Justin Bieber, who totally recovered from a disappointing showing at September's VMAs by bringing home three trophies including "Artist Of The Year"! Other big winners were Taylor Swift and Carly Rae Jepsen -- woohoo! We have to admit though, we were pretty bummed that One Direction went home empty handed. But, there's always next year, boys! And, they're NOT happy about it! In fact, Carlos Pena voiced his complaints on Twitter. He wrote: "Dear AMAs: Thank you for nominating the SAME people over and over each year. You should take a deeper look at artists who work just as hard." Ouch!

Big news for some of our faves this week! Both One Direction and Justin Bieber have received three nominations each for the 2012 American Music Awards!
One Direction is up for "New Artist Of The Year," "Favorite Band" (Pop/Rock) and "Favorite Album" (Pop/Rock)! Meanwhile, the Biebs got nods for "Artist of the Year," "Favorite Male Artist" (Pop/Rock) and "Favorite Album" (Pop/Rock). We're pumped to see JB and 1D go head-to-head for "Favorite Album" -- even though they're buds, there can only be one big winner!

Last night was the annual American Music Awards, and the stars did not disappoint! The big winner of the night was Taylor Swift, who won three awards: Fave country female artist, fave country album of the year and the big one, artist of the year. Selena and Justin were there also, sitting right next to Tay, and Tay even thanked Selena in her speech, calling Sel her "little sister" -- aww! Tay also tweeted, "I had one of the magical nights with my friends tonight!" Congrats, Tay!
Although Justin Bieber lost to Bruno Mars for fave male artist, JB showed no hard feelings, tweeting Bruno congrats. "Happy for my dude @brunomars - couldn't have gone to a better guy. well deserved. and @taylorswift13 and @nickiminaj CONGRATS Ladies!"
Justin was also a gentleman on the red carpet with Selena -- he had no problem helping her with her long dress train!
